Dream Catchers

My rested eyes lay upon you

Comfortable and quiet, flickering dreams

My eyelashes full of wishes sit and wait

Until it knows the perfect one to grant my soul

As one floats toward my cheek it whispers it's secret

"The perfect dream is to wish for her kiss"

If you listen carefully, you can always hear the secrets,

That your little dream catchers live for.

Encouragement

My shadow starts the day behind me
As I lead it forward and always one step in back

My shadow catches up and is beside me
As we take the day at each others' sides

My shadow ends the day in front of me
As it encourages me to stay moving forward
Like I had in the dawns early waking

Work Day

Woke up early enough that coffee made sense.
Had made hard boiled eggs the night before to make the morning easy.
Half an hour to undress myself, dance with water temperature, dress myself, put paste in my mouth and fumble out the door.

Check the time and make sure it's not still midnight. The sun gets to sleep in and I have a job that cares about what the clock says as soon as I step foot through the maze leading to the punch in on the other side of this hellish place.

The boss is late again. Noticed and added it to my tally. When I run this hole, they will have a talking to. At least there will be conversation.

The clock works slow. Never has a deadline for anything and leans against the wall all day. My coffee is cold. No one around here understands consistency.

Check the time and make sure it's not midnight. The sun got to leave early and I was stuck, without windows of the world, in my closed in box. I'm not a kid anymore, there is no adventure. Life is too serious for adventure in my box according to the boss who sleeps in and leaves early.

3 Pawns

To distant stars, people pray Saying Heaven is so far away
To burning down and shooting around The world is a bizarre place
The four seasons, sometimes two All depends where you live
Trying to sleep, living in the street Don't blink your eyes, you maybe gone
We fight for what's right An opinion we're taught by people's words
Put down your foot, plant it in the ground Flowers will grow, point their hands
Blame never ends, your soul will cry Don't be scared in all these fears
You'll turn out alright
Can you hear me now?
Are we all okay now?
Can you hear me now?
Are we all okay now?
Growing up takes little time One event changes minds
People tell me to let it out and cry Then pick up my things and move on
But these people don't live my life Staying up all the night, worrying about the mights
We all stroll through time, morals and lies Babies start to cry, before they are born
The pain never ends There's derived demand for what we call people's land
God gave it all
Can you hear me now?
Are we all okay now?
Can you hear me now?
Are we all okay now?
